Earl Grey French Toast - Thug Kitchen

Don't settle for a boring breakfast. You deserve a better start to your day and this tea steeped toast is gonna get you noshing like nobility.

Ingredients
8 ½ inch thick slices of crusty French bread
Batter:
2 cups vanilla non-dairy creamer*
4 earl grey tea bags (or whatever tea you like)
2 tablespoons flour, whole wheat or whatever you got
3 tablespoons ground chia or flaxseeds
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast or nooch if you’re cool
Directions

Warm up the creamer in a saucepan over a medium heat. Once it reaches a gently simmer, turn off the heat and throw in the tea bags. Let this steep for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.

In a pie pan or similar sized shallow dish, mix together the ground chia seeds and flour. Squeeze out the tea bags really well so all that flavor gets into the creamer then slowly whisk the creamer into the chia flour mix. Go slowly so that shit doesn't get all lumpy and gross. All right now let that sit for 5 minutes so that it can kinda thicken up.

After the 5 minutes are up, slowly add the nutritional yeast and stir. Warm your griddle over a medium heat and spray a little oil on it so these bitches don’t stick. Soak your bread slices into the batter for a couple seconds on each side and then throw em right on the griddle. Cook for about 2 minutes each side, or until they look golden and tasty. You know what the fuck French toast is supposed to look like. Serve with some maple syrup, fresh fruit, and powdered sugar if you're fancy.

Makes about 8 pieces of French toast but you can easily double or triple this shit
